Momentum Repatriates Canadian Citizens From Wuhan China For Canadian Government During Coronavirus Outbreak

Mar 13, 2020 | Urgent Response

Momentum Solutions has been on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic since the first reports and requisite evacuations began to roll out.

Our 24/7 Urgent Response and Operations Teams were swift to respond to the Canadian government’s emergency request to repatriate hundreds of citizens from Wuhan, China in early February 2020 to CFB Trenton for 14 days of isolation and medical monitoring. Momentum met the challenge head on and chartered an Airbus A330 aircraft to rescue the first group of Canadians from Wuhan, in the face of difficult and stringent quarantine conditions while ensuring all regulations for passenger and crew protective equipment and disinfection protocols were strictly met and adhered to.

All passengers and crew were outfitted with personal protective equipment, and the aircraft underwent a full disinfectant detailing, to the exacting standards required by the Canadian Government. In addition, the operating crew also underwent a fourteen (14) day quarantine in Canada before returning to duty.

The operation, while initially delayed by one day due to bad weather in Vietnam where the aircraft had been positioned prior to strictly permitted entrance to Wuhan, operated without further complications and all passengers and crew were returned safely.
